| Hi Guys,
I am alredy MCSE 2000,MCDBA,A+,CCNA, But I got shocked when I saw news from Microsoft about Launching Window XP, also called as win 2002 in OCT 2001.I think we are wasting our money on win 2000 certifications. So what
I suggest, go for window XP instead win 2000, Donot waste money.Ofcourse, win XP will be most popular in market as it is Multiuser and with completely different look than 95,98,2000. Give your suggestions too.
Thanks

| The last I read is that MS is not planning to model the MCSE around XP, but they were creating an elective for XP. The looks of XP may change, but under the hood, should be very similar to Windows 2000.
From what I reading now, XP is meant more as a replacement for the 9x series and as a complement to Professional. I doubt that we will see XP servers anytime soon. Windos 2002 (code named Whistler) will be the replacement for Windows 2000. | |

| This isn't anything new and I wouldn't dare worry about XP taking over the 2000 cert track. I have a version of XP and it's nothing compared to 2000. Just like detonb2000 suggested, it's going to replace 9x/ME. Who Cares??? Just another ploy by M$ to make more money. The interface is totally different from W2K and 9x and the program will be popular by non-technical users and kindergartners, but don't expect it to take over 2000.
There are a bunch of bubblegum looking icons that look pretty cool but it's not very stable (although I believe the version I hold is still a beta). I formated my system of it and now it serves me more useful as a cup coaster than an operating system.

| The one thing that I find interesting is the ability to revert back to the Windows 2000 interface :-) | |

| The word I have received is that XP is so similar to W2K that it won't have it's own certification. It is not the dynamic change that NT to W2K was so...
Hope this is true!!! | |

| Thanks for the info. You had me scared for a moment.
