OK folks I have gone insane (much like Yeti) trying to figure out the exact syntax to put in my answer file for the unattended install for the Lic. number. This is a plain jane one but it bombs out on the Lic number. I am running it from a cd and a floppy and so far so good but this one pain. Any Ideas are welcome.

Hey Wilbur,
How's your studying going? Watch your sanity, and your hair
I'm not sure if this is what you mean but if you don't want it to prompt for license agreement put
OemSkipEula = yes
In your answer file.
This will tell the computer that the user should or shouldn't be prompted to accept the Microsoft License Agreement included with Windows 2000. Writing this key and setting it to Yes just says that the person performing the installation has read and agreed to the contents of the License Agreement included with the product.
Take a peak at this white paper if your bored

I hope this helps, let me know if you need help, or if this isn't what you meant(It's late here and I'm a bit wonky)

Hi Wilbur, The syntax for the Lic number is as follows

[UserData]
ProductId="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"
FullName=whatever
OrgName=whatever
ComputerName=whatever

Note the Quotation marks ""
If you are booting from the CD and have the answer file on a floppy it must be renamed to winnt.sif

Hope that helps mate.

Thanks for the responses folks. I will give them a try and see what I come up with and will let you know.

Techie2b Sanity is almost a thing of the Past and the Hair issue - lets just say I am hair challenged. The company ponyed up and is paying for me to go to classes at New Horizons. I will be going for server next week and then Pro due to thier schedule. The rep told me to hold off on the tests until I had both server and pro courses done. So Study will be the name of the game next week although I may take a brief break to watch the Blues in the playoffs.

Thanks again for the responses

Glad to be of help,
Re server/Pro exams, I have taken both and they are much harder than NT4 varieties but easier to answer if that makes any sense at all????

I had several Q's where I had no idea of the answer so just picked the one which most closely resembled how I thought the scenario should go and my score (900) showed that I must have been right most of the time.

I think this was a combination of better wording on the Q's and a greater depth of understanding I now have.

Have a look at Transcenders, even the demo's will give you a feel for what to expect.

O.K. I have rambled on enough.

Good luck
