| hi,
i have few question that i really can't define which is the best answer for the particular question. pls help me. I need you to help. thanks!
1. you are using the Win2000Pro. computer. you create the shortcut for the folder name call Projects on a network share.
you want to make the shortcut to the Projects folder available when you are not connect to the network. You attemp to configure the shortcut to be available offline. However, you do not see an option to make the folder available offline.
A: use Windows explorer to enable caching for the Projects folder.
B. use Windows explorer to configure the Projects folder on the network share to be available for offline.
C: connect to network before trying to make the shortcut available offline.
D: create shortcut to each file in the Projects folder, and then make the shortcut to the file available offline.
2.you install a 16-bit ISA sound card on your Win2000Pro. computer you install the manufacturer device driver fo rthe Sound card. you then restart the computer. During the startup process, the computer stops loading. you restart the computer, and again the computer stops loading Win2000Pro. you start the computer on safe mode. what should you do next?
A: remove the sound card device driver by enabling driver signing.
B: remove the sound card device driver by disabling the driver signing.
C: disable the sound card device driver by using the disable cammand
D: disable the sound card device driver by using computer management.
(as i know, the answer from Cram Bible, the correct ans is D but i don't think this the correct ans?)
3. you use the Win2000Pro. on your desktop computer. you schedule the task to run an MMC snap-in to perform configuration tasks on other computers. you notice that the task is not completing correctly.
you manually start the MMC. you add the snap-in. you are then able to successfully run the task. you verify that all of your other tasks are working correctly. you want to enable your task to complete successully. what should you do?
A: use schedule tasks to configure the task to run under the security context of your account.
B: configure the tasks scheduler service account to use a local administrator account and password.
C: use computer management to start the messager service and configure the message service to start automatically.
D: use computer management to start the task schedule service and to configure the task schedule service to start automatically.
(the answer is A OR D, cram bible is D but from mcsebraindumps is A. How? which is the real)
4. you are the adminidstrator fo your company network. you install 20 new win2000pro. computers in the art department. Twoweeks later, users report that five of the computers have stopped responding.
you troubleshoot the five computer. you find that users have attached USB devices and have installed device drivers that not supported by win2000pro.
you want to ensure that this does not happen again. you decide to configure the computer to install device drivers only for devices that are include in the current hardware compatibility list (HCL). you want to use the Driver Signing Option dialog box as shows in the exhibit.
Which option should you enalble in th eDriver Signing Option dialog box? (Choose all that apply)
A: igone-install all the files, regardless of the file signature.
B: warn-display a message before installing an unsigned file
C: block-prevent installation of unsigned files.
D: apply setting as system default.
5. you are preparing to install Win2000Pro. on 100 MPS-compliant computers. each computer has two 550-MHz processors. the computer are configured identically.
you want to use one oif the computer as a reference computer for deploying win2000pro. to the remaining computer. you install win2000pro. on the reference computer. you view Device Manager and notice that the drivers for the second processor are not installed.
you want to add support of the second procesor on the remaining 99 computer. you want to accomplish this with the least amount of administrative effort.
A: use setup manager to configure the reference computer, and then create a disk image.
B: use the system preparation tools with the -PnP parameter to set up the reference disk. and then create a disk image.
C: use device manager to add the appropriate hardware adstraction layer (HAL) to the reference computer to support the second procesor and then create a disk image.
D: after imaging the reference computer, restart the reference computer in safe mode and add the driver for the second processor.
(The ans from cram bible is B but have another ans from mcsebraindumps is C and D? so which ans do you think)
6.your win2000pro. computer is configure ro support two monitors. you install a DOS-based application on your computer. the application uses the win2000pro. default setting autoexec.nt and config.nt.
your primary and secondary video adapters are both set to 16bit color, 1024x768 resolution, and default refresh rates. you create a shortcut for the DOS-based application on the primary monitors desktop and use the default PIF setting.
you attemps to run the DOS-based application on the primary monitor. the application opens, but the display are is scrambled. you then attemps to run the DOS-based application on the secondary monitor. the application does not open. both monitor function correctly when you run windows-based applications. What should you do?
A: change the color setting for both video adaptes to 256 color. reconfigure the shortcut properties to run the DOS-based application in full-screen mode.
B: change the refresh rate setting to optimal for both vidoe adpaters. reconfigure the PIF setting of the DOS-based application to start in a windows.
C: change the driver for the secondary video adapter from WDM-compliant drivers to DOS drivers. reconfigure the PIF setting to run the DOS-based application in full screen mode.
D: update the drivers for the primary video adapter. change the secondary video adapter to use 640x480 resolution and 256 colors.
(cram bible ans is A but i see alots of user from mcsebraindumps said C. which is the best ans?)
7.you are the administrator for your company network. a user named john has limited dexterity, which prevents him from using the standard keyboard to complete his daily computing task. you want to configure his win2000pro. computer to use the appropriate accessibility options.
you log on to john computer by using john user account, which is a member of the local users group. you configure the StickyKeys, FilterKeys, and ToggleKeys options. you then log off.
john logs on to the computer by using his user account. john is able to use the accessibility options that you have configured. however, when he returns from lunch, the accessibility options are automatically turn off.
A: use Accessibility Option in Control Panel to reconfigure the accessibility idle time setting.
B: use Accessibility Option in Control Panel to enable the FilterKeys option to reconfigure the time setting.
C: use Utility Manager to configure the accessibility options to start automatically when win2000Pro. loads.

(the ans is A OR C?)
8. To accommodate new users, you add two new user account named User7 and User8 to the computer. when User7 attemps to log into computer, she receives the following error message, "Windows cannot copy file C:\Document and Setting\Default User\to location C:\Document and Setting\User7. Contact your network administrator. Detail- Access Denied." when User8 attemps to log on the computer, he receive the same error message with User7.
You want to allow the two new user, as well as other user in the sales department, to be able to log into computer. Which two method can you use to accomplish your goal?
A: Add the User7 and User8 user account to the DACL for the profiles shared folder on the network server.
B: Add the User7 and User8 user account to the DACL for the C:\Document and Setting\Default User folder.
C:Add the Everyone group to the DACL for the C:\Document and Setting\Default User folder.
D: Add a group policy object (GPO) for the Sales OU that redirects user profiles to shared folder.
E: Log on by using the local administrator account and create new folders for User7 and User8 in the C:\Document and Setting folder.
F: Select the Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object option on the C:\Documant and Setting\Default User folder, and reset the permissions on all the child objects.
(the answer from cram bible is C,F but i don't think this is right. i guess is A&E OR B&E? can you pls look carefully and i am sure this have come out from the real exam.)
9. you are the adminsitrator of your company network. you configure a local group named Accounting to have a mandatory user profile. th emandatory profile has been configure to include a custom logo that was saved with 16-bit color and 1024x768 resolution.
Some of the Win2000Pro. computers in the accounting department have standard VGA video adapters, and others have SVGA video adapters.
Several users report that when they log on the certain Win2000Pro. computers, the custom bitmap becomes very pixilated and distorted, and does not reflect the proper color depth.
you want uers to be able to correctly view the custom bitmap on any computer in the accounting department.
what should you do?
A: configure a roaming user profile for each user in the Accounting group.
B: configure a separate user profile for each user in the Accounting group.

(the ans from cram bible is C but i get a lots ans for D from mcsebraindumps, so how about you?)
14. you install win2000pro. on your portable computer. you use a docking station fo ryour portable computer when you are in the office.
you install an ISA-based SCSI adapter in your docking station. you insert your computer into the docking station and start the computer. the SCSI adapter is not detected during the startup process.
you start the Add/Remove hardware wizard. when the process is finish, the SCSI adapter is not listed. you want to allow win2000pro. to detect the SCSI adapter. what you need to do?
A: restart the Add/Remove Hardware wizard. manually add the SCSI adapter drivers.
B: restart the computer in safe mode. restast the Add/Remove Hardware wizard to detect the SCSI adapter.
C: configure win2000pro. to use driver signing. restart the Add/Remove Hardware wizard to detect the SCSI adapter.
D: copy the SCSI adapter driver on the Winnt\Driver\i386 folder. reatsrt the Add/Remove Hardware wizard to detect the SCSI adapter.
(i guess is D but the Winnt\Driver\i386 should be sysroot\Driver\i386 right? anyway, the ans for cram bible is A...so what is your ans?
15. you are the administrator of your company network. your network has 200 win2000pro. computers and 15 win2000 server. users share the home folder on a network share. the NTFS partition that contains the home folder has EFS enable.
a user named john leaves the company. you move the file from john home folder to his manager folder. when the manager attemps to open the any files, she receive the following message "Access Denied" what you need to do?

| Hi, first of all I would like to know where did u get these questions from? Are they from Troytech? Please let me know that first so I can explain further... | |
| rctechy 2001-04-18, 7:15 am |
| I think you would get more reponse if you only ask one question at a time. | |

| I agree with rctechy -- breaking this into two to four questions a pop might be easier.
I looked at the bottom three and here is my two cents...
17 -- B
But I could argue this one to D. It says during the Startup Process the machine crashes. If it is crashing during the boot process you will never have time to hit F8 -- therefor you would need the Recovery Console. I would go with B on an exam though. The best way to fix this is Safe Mode -- if you can get there, which you should be able to before the driver loads and crashes the system.
16 -- A
Set Driver Signing Options to Warn.
15 -- B
Definately! I am not even sure why your thought process went to D.
14 -- A
I have never copied into i386. Not sure what would happen, but Microsoft wants us using their tools... | |

| Q.14
D. would work "if" you logged as a backup operator, backed up the file and then restored the file on the designated recovery station so that the administrator could decrypt the file and send it to the new owner. |
