| Hi there
I passed my 210 about 2 weeks and i've just started on my 215 but i'm finding it pointless.I need a home network to practice on as it's impossible just to "imagine" the network. This is really depressing me as i can't afford to buy extra computers unless i overdraw on my bank account.Damn, i'm wasting my time.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Evan

| I understand your dilemma. I too, confront problems obtaining multiple computers for my home. Fortunately, I have slowly acquired enough PCs for the hands-on required to reinforce the data covered in the study materials.
I built all of my equipment at a reasonable cost. If I infer correctly, you're saying that even low-cost machines won't fit into your budget. Try some alternatives.
For instance, if you currently own a machine, you may be able to build one containing the bare necessities. Add a remote control program and you don't need a monitor. You can also save money by using Win2k Terminal Services in lieu of remote control software.
I have a 3-year-old laptop that has been invaluable to me. It has the necessary specs to run Win2k Pro and, indeed, it gets a workout! Nevertheless,it took me two years to assemble two additional desktop systems.
I don't want to make assumptions because I empathize with you. My budget is so tight that I can only order books once per month! I joined a book club several years ago, and during that time span, I've collected enough bonus points to get publications at half price.
I am a constant Pricewatch.com visitor looking for deals on a variety of items. You would be surprised at some of the rock bottom prices on hardware that are available. Good luck in your endeavors. |
