I just finished taking a 3 month MOC at a local school. Learned alot coming from learning 0 when I started in January.

But still not fully grasping it all. Its a lot to take in only 3 months. I have a several books now - all the MSPress books for each test too.

Also have a 4 computer network with windows 2000 for labs and testing at home. (Used computers are cheap these days)

Going to start the testing in April for the first round.

I was looking at the study guides on this site. Anyone have any good experience with using them for studying for the test? Whats the best way to use them in a study method for taking these tests?

Also, I was wondering how long some of you are taking between studying and taking the MCSE tests.

My guess for me is I'm going to "TRY" and get 1 a month until I get the 7 needed. But I don't know if thats realistic or not.

Love to hear from some of you that have gone this route already.

Well having a network at home is great, you can mess things up, fix it, and you will be alot more confident and comfortble with W2K. I took a MOC class in Sept, and I am just doing my final test(221)this Tuesday. I had two weeks off at Christmas though so that set my brain back a bit. Examnotes, mcseguide.com and brainbuzz.com all have really good study guides for the exams. I always re-read the MOC's and I read the study guides about two or three days before I take the exam to make sure I am comfortble with everything that the guide talks about. I always go to microsoft's site to look up the exam I'm about to study for and look at what they are testing, and figure out what my level of understanding is. Use as much info as you can get your hands on.
Take your time, take the tests when you feel ready, don't let what someone else got on any exam scare you, getting feedback on exams is helpful, but remember what one person might find hard, you might find easy.
When you want to take exams is completly up to you, I finished my course at the end of Feb, and I have all day/night/latenight to study for exams, and I will have my MCSE tuesday.(oh the brainache)
If you have questions never be afraid of asking them
Good Luck

Well how did you do? Did you get it?

I sure did, thanks for asking gpl
221 is very beastly, but it's done, and though I am now cramming for CNA, I throughly enjoyed my Microsoft high that I had on Tuesday

Well congrats!

I'm looking forward to taking my first 70-210 in about 2 weeks or so. I'll be happy to get that first one out of the way.

Gimme some letters behind my name :-)
