| I have been working on 70-210 for awhile now and I am planning on taking the test in a couple weeks. I am in the study, study, study process (although I will admit is hard to study with Return to Castle Wolfenstein installed)and before I make the appointment to test, I have some questions that I hope so of you can help answer:
1) Is the test Adaptive? I hear that it varies. I do know that regardless of what kind of test it is, I should know the material.
2) Were there a lot of long-phrased questions?
3) If not Adaptive, how many questions?
4) What exactly does 540 or 620 scores mean? In other words, how is the scoring system based?
5) Just how long do I have to take the test?
6) Has anyone failed this test? Meaning, I only see posts of people who have passed.
7) What is the hardest part of this test?
8) What was the easiest part of the exam?
9) Was the exam tricky?
10) Did the test focus more on certain areas of Win2K Pro than other areas?
I am just curious. I tested for the Net+ earlier this year and found it to be pretty easy. The enviroment was easy going and nice, but what I found that bothered me most was that good ol' human factor- the fear of failing and the nervous jitters that constantly fueled that fear all the way up to the very last question on my test. I remember being terrified to submit my test because I was worried that I would not pass even though I really knew that I did well. As you can probably tell, that fear is finding its way back to me because I am getting close to taking the exam. I am looking for a little insight from those of you who have taken the exam so if you have ANY input, I would greatly appreciate it. TIA!! | |

| The test is not adaptive and there are 50 questions.Yes most of the questions are pretty long. 540 is the score needed to pass anything above is a pass.. I passed on my first shot,I can only recall seeing a couple of people on the message boards admitting to failing it. You have 2 hours to complete the exam. | |

| If you have studied for this test then you have nothing to worry about. You have 2 hours and passing score is 540. I scored 840 and it only took a little over 30 minutes. This test is easy. | |

| I appreciate your insight. I am sure that test isn't hard, but as I stated, I gett really jittery when it comes to test and that affects my thinking and train of thought, like with most people. I asked if it was adaptive because in some of the study material that I have read, it says that the test could be adaptive, short form, case study or fixed-length. Did MS change the test to 50 question, case study? Hey guys, thanks again! I really appreciate your input! | |

| Captain...
If you know the material, then believe in yourself and go pass the test!
A monkey could walk into a testing center...click the mouse a few times and score at least a 540. (I believe ms passing scores should be raised).
If you are doing well on practice tests, then you should have no worry, you are ready.
Before taking the test, just throw in some tunes that pump you up, or do a few push-ups. After passing, crack open a beer and celebrate.

| I know that you are right. Question though, I read that the passing score was 620. Has this changed? Hey, thanks for the advice. You are absolutely correct, I just need to get over the nerves! | |

| captain,
I'm not sure if you got all the answers to your questions...i may have answered a couple of them on my thread(where i passed) but anyway....here's the answers(as I know them)in the numbered order above:
1. the 70-210 is not adaptive. standard form multiple choice.
2. yes, there are alot of long-phrased questions. But, alot of times,in that long phrased question, there is alot of insignificant material....and a small amount of significant information...if you know your stuff, you will be able to pick it out easily...
3. there are 50 questions on the exam.
4. the scoring system...is similar(if you took them) to the SAT's in high school...instead of scoring a 54 % they just multiply 10...and it becomes 540...62% 620..... the passing score is 540....or 54 %.
5. 2 hours, took me an hour
6. I'm sure people fail here and there, but who would want to post about it??? the only forum I've seen where people admit to it is 70-216 and from what I heard, that exam is ridiculously hard.
7 and 8. what's easiest...or hardest...depends on every person it seems like. From what I've seen you post on this thread and others, I think you'll do fine. I know about the pre-test jitters, sometimes half way through an exam(lets say with 50 questions total)I'll still be nervous even after knowing I answered the first half correct....guess alot of it is the $$$ you put out....
9. tricky in parts but not enough to make you fail.
don't worry, you'll pass....since im studying now for 70-216 i probably won't be on this forum anymore, so if you have any more questiona about the exam or the server one, you can email me privately at merav25@optonline.net i know its probably stupid to just post your email address in the forums, but oh well...i don't care.. Good luck, hope you pass it....

| Andrew, thanks a lot for the details information. Man, I really appreciate that information. I am really surprised that the passing score is so low. I bet MS will change this at some point. I spent a reasonable amount of money for the 70-210 and now I wish I wouldn't have spent so much money or time on it. Don't get me wrong, it is great to know the details of Win2K Pro, but a person could miss nearly half of the questions and still pass it. I am not a slacker and I don't want to just pass this exam, but I have invested a lot on 70-210. Unreal. Your info has helped me a lot! Thanks and good luck to you with 70-216!
