| Is there a way to set up ICS so it will not automatically change the IP address of my 2000 machine. I don't want to use the ip address is assigns.
Thanks | |

| Every time I tried to setup ICS it always want to assign a 192.168.0.x IP to my machine. I don't like that. I want to use the IP address of my choice and point the other machines on my network to that address as being the gateway. I haven't figured out how to manually set ICS up. | |

| when you install ICS, you have to use DHCP if you don't have a DHCP server running your ICS will act as your DHCP server and assign your IP addresses from the 192.168.x.x private IP range. It assigns the ICS computer the address of 192.168.1.254 by default. | |

If you are going to utilize ICS, you are basically stuck with the IP address range that ICS's DHCP allocator assigns. I do not know of a way to change the 192.168.0.x IP address scope the ICS DHCP allocator assigns.
Check this forum link for a longer explanation of ICS and what it does when you enable it. Although not exactly the same question, some of the info I posted is relevant to your situation.
