| CKmore,
Hey. I saw your message and here is the answer.
1) Format C: drive
2) If you have a CD-ROM/ Dos Bootdisk -- insert it.
3) Before you install Win2K Pro - Run SMARTDRV.EXE
command to use:
a:\smartdrv 1024 1024
You will notice the speed of which it will copy the files to the Hard-drive
4) To install it: insert CD -->
CDROM DRIVE LETTER:\ cd I386
Than type WINNT.
5)You will be on your way of installing it.
I will be taking my MCP 2000 Pro exam tomorrow. Will let you know how I did.

| CKMORE,
I recommend after installing it. Install Recovery Console. You will be happy that you did......Wish me luck tomorrow.

| Would we ever learn anything, and maybe save a lot of time too, if for every little, or even big, problem we reinstalled the OS.
I did i little search for your STOP error on the Microsoft knowledge base and probably this article comes closes to answering your question:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q246243
If it doesn't do a search for the STOP error
Driver_Power_State_Failure.
BTW, CKMORE's method of installing is outdated if you have a pc that is not too old, just insert your CD-ROM and boot it.
Good luck and let us know how things went.
Greetz. |
