O.k., I used Setupmngr.exe to make an answer file for a CD based installation. It generated two files, unattend.txt and unattend.bat. I know to rename the unattend.txt to winnt.sif and copy to a floppy for unattended CD based install. I was just wondering (for exam purposes), what do I do with the unattend.bat file in this case? Leave as is and copy to the floppy too or just ignore it......what is the Exam looking for?? Thanks!!

Hi jguy,

The floppy disk only needs the .sif (Setup Information File) file on it.

HTH!

Wonder what the .bat file is for? Anyone care to take a shot at this one??? Freak?

The batch file sets variables, and then the variables are used to run Winnt32 with switches.
In other words, the unattend.bat file is used for starting the installation if you do not want to create the winnt32 /unattend path yourself... hope this helps
