Moving Files, Attributes , Etc.

| O.k., I'll be taking the test Monday, the 29th and have two questions.
I'm trying to figure out an easier way to remember when a file remains compressed (copied or moved);I know that when a file/folder is moved on the same volume, it remains compressed and when it's copied, it inherits and so forth. I just remember reading a "short-cut" on how to determine the attributes one day in the many MCSE 70-210 books that I've been reading. I just can't seem to find it!!!! I just thought that maybe one of you guys knew this "short-cut".
O.k., on to next question. What is the 70-210 looking for on the minimum amount of RAM for installation?? All my books say 32MB, but M$ wants 64MB.......what's the correct answer for the test???
Thanks!!! | |

| you seem to already know what you need to know.
Personally, I like to look for keywords. I only remember one sentence:
"If you MOVE a file inside of the SAME ntfs partition, then it will retain its properties. Any other scenario, it will inherit."
Key words here are in CAPS, ie "move" and "same".
I hope this helps... | |

| Here's how I remember it....
"Files and folders always inhert UNLESS MOVED within the same NTFS partition, then they RETAIN."
it works for me.
2000 Professional System Requirements:
your computer should meet the following hardware requirements:
- 133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU.
- 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves
responsiveness [4 gigabytes (GB) RAM maximum.]
- 2 GB hard disk with a minimum of 650 MB of free space. (Additional free hard disk space is required if you are installing over a network.)
From Technet Article Q254383. 64MB was the number I used when I took my test.
