This is probably not the place to post this question, but I don't know where else to look for an answer so if this offends anyone, I am sorry.

I am looking to buy XP and am wondering about the differences between the full version and the upgrade version. In the past, MS has supplied the full version on the upgrade CD and since I already own Windows 98 and in order to save $100, can we expect the upgrade version of Windows XP to have a full install?

it's actually the serial number that determine the upgrade or full version. You can still purchase the upgrade version, but keep your 98 cd handy incase the installation asks you for it, which it probably would

Sweet! I figured that would be the case, but I just wanted to check with everyone to see if that was the case. Thanks a lot!
