Tips for people who want to pass!!
|

|
| Hi,
I took the 70-210 exam for the second time today and got a 780!!
As it is difficult knowing what resources to use I thought I would recommend what I used.
The first time I took the exam I had only used the Sybex 70-210 study guide, this book does not go into enough depth on some of the major topics to know. Also, the CD with does not have exam-based questions. I found that if you are completely new to a technical certification then this book is good to get you started but not enough to rely on.
What I did after failing was to get hold of Transcenders 2000 flash cards and exam questions. They are quite expensive but they helped me pass. I used the flash cards first until I was getting most of them right and then started on the exam questions. The questions are very good, very similar to the real thing and they also have detailed answers on why the answer is right and why the others are wrong.
If you can, try to put the evaluation copy of 2000 Pro on your own computer. Unfortunately there are some aspects of learning about 2000 for the exam which are very difficult such as permissions, auditing, user rights etc. I think this is because unless you actually have a chance to work on a live network these things can be difficult to get used to.
Good luck everyone who is trying to pass and I hope what I have written will be of use to people.

| Hi Paul,
first of all congrats on passing the test ... good job!
I just started studying, so I'm greatful for all the tips I can get regarding books and other helpfull things.
I just finished downloading the trialversions on Transcender, and I have the MCSE Training Kit 2000 from Microsoft Press.
I think that's a pretty good start, but of course I'll still be checking out boards and newsgroups for tips and suggestions.
So thnx for your contribution to my future status of MCSE!
Greetings,
dazz |
