I'm getting conflicting answers to two questions:

What is the first task that a network designer should perform when documenting the
customer requirements and existing environment of a network design project?
A. access the scope of the design project
B. identify applications, both planned and installed.
C. identify the customer's business constraints
D. assess the customer's business goals

I've seen both C and D for this question. Which one is right, I thought i was business goals but I'm not sure.

Also this question:

When collecting information about a customer's existing network, which two
information sources will provide the most accurate data? (choose two)
A. Existing network topology diagram
B. Customer interview
C. Traffic analysis
D. Configuration obtained from network equipment
E. Customer-supplied server list

I would have thought C and D.

The answer according to testking is A and D. Any thoughts?

Question 1 should be C.

Question 2, I think is A and B.

Not sure I can help you with the first question. Pretty confusing and ambigious. It is either C or D. I have looked over the CCDA exam certification guide and really does not clarify matters.

As to the second question it is most definitely C and D.

Interview with client is wrong as the client is only human and can obviously make mistakes.

Topology is wrong, as a topology diagram is normally created by a human and is prone to human error.

Traffic analysis and configuration is what is actually there, in the ground, and thus the most accurate.

Don't use test king!, learn the material from accredited sources. Test king is known to be wrong in many cases.

I agree re Test King. Lots of problems.

Re first question. I think this is left over from the old CCDA exam, where they asked for steps in determining network requirements. The answers were (in order), determine business constraints, security reqs, managablity reqs, Application reqs, Characterize new network traffic, ID performance reqs, and create a customer needs spec. My newer material presents things differently and indicates the first step in planning is to define business requirements and strategy.

On the second question I'd go with C & D as well, unless I created the diagram of the existing network myself. But user input is also a import source of information on performance, - not to be ignored.

QUESTION NO: 18
Which two characteristics are affected by choice of codec when designing networks to carry IP telephony? (Choose two)

A. Voice quality
B. Silence packet handling
C. Voice packet header size
D. Bandwidth required for voice calls

Answer: A, D

QID: 253

An international consulting firm has been awarded a government contract to design a network for a commodity export company in postwar Iraq. In the Request For Proposal the consulting firm learned the new network must carry IP telephony. The consulting firm has limited experience with this technology. They want to ensure the performance meets government standards. What two characteristics will be affected by their choice of codec? (Choose 2)

A.) non-speech packets
B.) packet header size
C.) required bandwidth
D.) speech quality

The correct answer(s): A, D

QUESTION NO: 28

TestKing is an auto parts distribution company. They have a single location with
headquarters in one office building and three warehouses. Their customer base consists of 400 independent auto parts retailers, which connect through direct links to their network to access an ordering system. The servers and access routers connecting to the retail outlets are on a separate Ethernet VLAN in the headquarters campus. The retail outlets are complaining about poor response time when they connect to the ordering system.

TestKing wants you to help them plan some improvements to their network to increase the performance of their customers connections to the ordering system. What are two additional details about TestKing’s existing network needed for this analysis? (Choose two)

A. Router ACLs providing security to the servers.
B. Bandwidth of their connection to the Internet.
C. Type of the connections to the retail outlets.
D. Utilization on the servers VLAN.
E. Number of users on the headquarters LAN.

Answer: C, D

QID: 164

Home Safe Supplies is a franchise retailer that sells disaster survival products through a network of 500 nationwide mall stores. The main campus consists of the company headquarters, a research and development building, a testing and quality assurance facility, and two warehouses. Each of the stores accesses an ordering system that is hosted at the company headquarters through dedicated links.

Improvements to the Home Safe Supplies network must be designed. The store managers have complained about slow response time while accessing the ordering system. Based on a recommendation by a consulting company, the servers and Access routers were moved to a separate Ethernet VLAN, but this has not helped.

What other information is required to deliver recommendations to the Home Safe Supplies executives so that improvements can be made to the company network (Choose 2)

A.) quantity of corporate users on the main campus VLAN
B.) connection type that serves each of the 500 stores
C.) server utilization on the company headquarters VLAN
D.) security provided by the router access list for the servers
E.) bandwidth of the dedicated lines for each of the stores

The correct answer(s): B, E

QUESTION NO: 32

You are designing an IP addressing system for a large home which has IP enabled endsystems (appliance, light switches, security systems, heating/coding systems and video cameras). This network is connected to the Internet 24 hours a day via an ADSL connection and uses Network Address Translation (NAT). The end-systems on this network are remotely accessed by the home owner to monitor the activities in her home. What IP addressing system would be most suitable for these end-systems?

A. Public IPv4 addresses
B. Private IPv4 addresses
C. A combination of Private and Public IPv4 addresses
D. Micro-IP addresses
E. IPv6 addresses

Answer: B

QID: 194

A suburban homeowner needs an IP addressing scheme that will allow her to access and monitor the home devices while she is at work. She has established service with a local provider who offers DSL service to her home. She wants to be able to access appliances, a security system, a living room webcam, and the heating/cooling system. Her provider delivered a Cisco 1417 DSL router that is configured to run NAT using IPv4 addresses. What IP addressing scheme must be configured on the router that will allow the homeowner to access the IP-enabled devices while she is at away from home at work?

A.) IPv4 addresses
B.) IPv6 addresses
C.) public IPv4 addresses
D.) private IPv4 addresses
E.) both public and private IPv4 addresses

The correct answer(s): E

I have seen questions with no right answer or more right answers than the number they want you to select.

For many though you can find the answers in the book.
