Hello to everyone,
I have been studying the sybex 640-441 study guide by todd lamelle Donald Porter, however really like to know what differences are applied to the exam. i have looked on Cisco's web site and all i can see is the rough outline of whats in the exam. What I want to know is what do i need to know for the exam? I have pinned up notes of ever single page of every chapter all over my house desperately trying to learn as much as possible for the exam, but my big problem is what to learn? I have printed huge documements of SAFE and IPv6 and VoIP. theya re in the 54 page catagory, there is so much to know for the exam..however what specifically has changed for the 640-861 exam? And what is the pass mark? is it 825?

Plese could I have some help as this exam is very important to me as it is to many of you out there.

I am nervous as this ismy first Cisco exam
Please can you reply for me thank you.

This is a XXXXX of an exam. I have studied the 441 and could pass that today without trouble but I have failed the 861 several times.

I don't want to break the confidentiality agreement but the overview is so vague that it makes study almost impossible.

You need to understand SAFE and the Enterprise Composite Model including what you would normally find in each module to a reasonable broad level.

VoIP in broad depth with connectors between various units.

IPv6 - learn everything you can in reasonable depth. There are still answers I can't find (and was accused of trying to braindump when I asked the Moderator if I could ask him).

Also learn the Access, Distribution and Core layers in depth and how each layer is terminated. (Any more than that is saying too much).

The new Sybex CCDA 2nd Edition has a lot of material and is helpful but it doesn't go anywhere deep enough.

I haven't been able to find any information of VoIP Telephony troubleshooting information in relation to things like the busy back signals except in rather broad concept - not enough to answer the questions!

I hope to resit the exam again this week or next week as I am cleaning up a fully patched network that was infected by the Lovsan virus.

Maybe the Moderator can answer how IPv6 aggregation occurs. I’ve asked several CCIE and they don’t have a clue.

Re the previous post....

The board where I was accused of braindumping wasn't this board. So no insult directed at the Moderator of this board.

Also, I don't bother with that board any more - no content or help - just insults.

Cheers
