Additional ISDN questions

| I am studying for an internal skill assessment on ISDN and had a couple of the questions that I could not locate answers to. Here are a few if anyone can help:
#1. What type of signaling is used on a PRI circuit?
A. CAS
B. DTMF
C. G.729 (my guess)
D. CCS
E. OSS
#2. You need to make a connector for your ISDN TA. Referring to the senario above, how do you configure polarity for the connector in ISDN?
A. You do not need to do anything. There is no polarity in ISDN.
B. You need to make sure that ring goes to tip and tip goes to ring.
C. You need to switch the center two pins from the way the telephone company deployed it to your NID.
D. You do not need to switch anything in the connector, the terminal adapter will complete the tip/ring functionality. (my guess)
E. You need to switch pins one and eight.
#3. You have just received you PRI circuit from the telephone provider and you need to make a cross-over cable. Which pins do you need to cross in order to make this cable.
A. 4 with 5 and 6 with 7
B. 1 with 4 and 2 with 5
C. 3 with 4 and 6 with 8
D. 1 with 7 and 2 with 8
E. 1 with 3 and 2 with 6
#4. You have just received your ISDN installation and ISDN router. You will be connecting into a 10BaseT hub that in turn connects to the router. You will need to make your own cable for this connection. What are the only pins you need to wire for this connection?
A. 1,2,4,5
B. 1,2,3,6
C. 1,2,7,8
D. 4 and 5
E. 2 and 3
#5. When troubleshooting voice calls on a PRI circuit with ESF framing, on what channels do the Sig-bits (A-D Signaling Bits) reside?
A. 8,12,16,22
B. 6,12,18,24
C. 4,8,12,16
D. 2,4,6,8
E. 5,10,15,20
One other thing...is u-law both the encoding scheme and compending method for North America?
Thanks for any help on any of these! | |

code:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk653/ technologies_tech_note09186a00
800e2560.shtml
2 d - TA's connect non-ISDN devices to the ISDN network
3 b - T1 pinout 12 45 (Tx+ TX- RX+ RX-)
4 b - Ethernet uses 1,2,3 and 6 for comms.
5 b - see URL above...
