| I don't know where to start except this test is hard! The time limit is VERY VERY TIGHT! This is the hardest test I have taken to date. The funny part is I PASSED the CID right after failing this new CCDA...
The one thing I did not study that would have given me a pass was how each routing protocol deals with IPV6, ie. do you need a special version, does it even support IPV6, there was 3 questions on this and I had no clue. One more answer right and I would have passed. Mostly the new stuff is ..
SNMPv3, IPV6, IP Telephony and SAFE.
One question regarding Token Ring and little ATM as far as I can recall
There are these wierd quesitons callwd "mini inter exams" or some crazy thing.... they are "tests within a test" So it is ONE question with ONE scenario
and 4 subsets of questions each with multiple answers each, it works out to about 10 - 12 answers for one question out of the 64.
Not alot of scenario about three almost identical to some of the practice ones out there.

| My advice is that if you can wait for the books to come out you will have a much less difficult time wtih this exam as you will know what to study and how much of each topic.
On the other hand I have been forced to learn so much to try to over compensate for not knowing the scope of the material on the exam that I believe I am better off for it in the real world ...
Personally I don't care to wait, I just want to get these design certs, maybe a specialization and be done with the Cisco bandwagon. This cisco-centric stuff is getting to me...
Slap me I am a Cisco Cert Whore!

| Who has any new CCDA books coming out and when? Looks like I will have to wait.
Thanks!

| I am not sure who is first but I seem to remember that the first book is not comming out till july.... but if you study the old book + SNMPv3, AVVID Telephony, SAFE and IPv6 (Including the IPv6 routing protocols or the extension to existing IPv4 routing protocols)
You could pass, if you are fast enough as the exam time is really short..

| I got within less then %1 away from passing ... if you take #questions / #right * 700 + 300
So if I knew about the ipv6 routing section I would have passed with a little extra to boot!
Still if you are not up for the risk then I would say wait for the book ....

| Make that
#right / #questions * 700 + 300

Actually, don't beat yourself up too hard. Coming that close, with no real study materials is a pretty good feat!
I hope you do well on your re-take!

| So I should take CID first since I have the book for it and just wait for the new book for the CCDA exam? | |
| unreÄssembled 2003-06-03, 1:09 pm |
| I would say that is your best bet, and it will prepare your for the CCDA.
It's Backwards but if you are up to it then ... |
