Passed the CID today

| I sneaked by the CID exam today. It was not my best effort but a pass is a pass. This gets me my CCDP. If you are using the bosons practice test it still covers items that have been dropped from the exam. SNA, AppleTalk, StrataCom. This exam is only valid till the end of May. Here is a quote from the Cisco newsletter.
"Cisco Press Newsletter: February 2003
Learning is Serious Business. Invest Wisely.
=> CCDP Revision Announced
Cisco Systems announced on February 25 a reorganization and updating
of the CCDP certification. A new course, Designing Cisco Network
Architectures (ARCH), and exam, 642-871 ARCH, will replace the Cisco
Internetwork Design course and 640-025 Design exam at the end of May.
CCNA certification will still be a prerequisite, and 640-604 Switching,
640-901 BSCI, and the recently announced CCDA exam, 640-861 DESGN,
will be required exams. The 640-605 Remote Access exam will no longer
be required." | |

| Good Job!
I passed this past Friday, about 40 point above the mark, not where I hoped but a pass is still a pass.
I'm probably going to take the Support exam next week, then I'll take Routing in another two weeks and get both NP and DP together.
After that, on to CCSP! | |

| I have a question about the 640-025 exam. What is the format? I heard it wasn't all multiple choice and there sentence answers, is this true? | |

| The test I took was all multiple choice. I had no fill in the blank. I only remember a couple of displays and they were pretty basic, refer to the diagram and answer this question. Mostly it was single answer questions. There were a few where it would be select the best two or three, but for the most part it had single choice grouped answers. Meaning each answer was a different group of answers, and you have to pick the best one. Something like this:
Select examples of multimedia applications that need multicast:
A. Internet telephone services, collaborative computing, desktop conferencing
B. collaborative computing, desktop conferencing, LAN TV
C. collaborative computing, Internet telephone services, LAN TV
I hope this helps. | |
