Unsure if I can take the CCDA before March 5th. So what is going to be the big difference between the two?

Thanks

For the CCDA 640-441 exam, if you have not yet booked it, you will not be able to take it as the testing centers are no longer allowed to accept bookings for it.

You will need to do the next one! As for what is in it, all I have been able to find is on the Cisco website, with roughly a 10 line description that didn't tell me much.

If you find manage to find out any info, or anyone else out there knows anything, please tell us!

I am taking my exam on the 1st, and at the moment if I fail it it looks like I will be unable to retake it until Cisco update their course books!!!

Thats good news!

I would check it quite carefully though, as Cisco's website states they have stopped taking bookings on 5th Feb for the 640-441 exam. Could Vue have booked you on the updated exam and not told you about it?

Hope you have managed to get on it, and good luck with then exam.

I have yet to take one of the test exams from the sybex and cisco press books and pass it yet! (though getting close..) Lots of work still to do...

You should have no problems with the older one I found it quite easy for the limited amount of time studying. Just have a general concept not specifics

I scheduled my 640-441 (before I saw the 2/5 date on the Cisco site) on Wednesday last week. Took it this morning and was a bit worried that I might get the new test - it was the 640-441. Actually, I didn't see the new exam as an option on Prometric's site. Now, I'll hope that they'll honor my passing results - I can't see any legitimate reason why.

If you're taking the 640-441 test before 3/5 - make sure that you are comfortable reading and understanding Case Studies and applying the Cisco models to the information.

As I understand it the new test covers newer products, the SAFE blueprint, VoIP and IPV6. To the best of my knowledge there aren't any study guides on the shelves yet, but some are in the works. Check out tcpmag.com for additional details on the new exam.

They do accept it, even though the CertTracker doesn't indicate it. I re-cert'd late last month on the old exam (640-441) and the site reflected the re-cert a couple of days later.
