Hey people,

I just got done with my CCNA exam today. 975. Study for about 2 weeks or so. How does CCDA compare to CCNA, as far as skill level? Or should people study for their CCNP first??

Thank for your help!

i would say CCDA was one of the hardest paper i took among ccnp/ccdp track. it is not about the technological part of ccda ..but because too many things to read ie case study and it is subjective but have to follow cisco's answer.

i think if you have CCNP ..then it is bonus and more simpler way to take CCDA ..

but in your case, you may try CCDA ..i think shouldn't be any problem ..taking into consideration your ccna result.

btw i also last time took ccda after ccna ...

I am a person that hates reading. What are these case studies everyone talks about when talking about the CCDA exam?

Thanks for your help!

If you have been in doing pre-sale on Cisco networking stuff, then it shall not be a problem for you. You have to know which product or technology use is for which layer and meant for what type of site, etc.

cheers!

nhesson, what study materials did you use exactly to obtain a 975 in 2 weeks?

Nhesson,

Keep in mind that the CCNP tests cover both Design and Implementation topics (because 3 out of 4 are also CCDP tests). Some people will tell you to do CCNP first so that you are ready and prepared for CCDA, but I personally think it would be better to get a foundation in both aspects before tackling the "professional" level exams that cover both. Just my two cents

I have been studying for a month and I am no where near to sitting this exam. I have brought two routers and a switch for my home lab to build upon my experience as I use Cisco routers and switches at work, but two weeks??????

I guess it depends on your experience level.
Starting cold with no experience would be very difficult.
But with six months regular experience with cisco gear and a couple years experience with say microsoft I could see 2 weeks of study.
I studied for a month way back when, but I had access to production routers and switches and a good mentor.

That is rather strange arvindhhshukla as you posted exactly the same question in this thread:
