| Passed DCN exam after two weeks break from the first attempt. Agree with you guys this exam is a bonus for CCNP(covers many Q. on CCNP tracks) but aliens for CCNA(DCN study guide does not cover that indepth). Also, scenario Q. is a killer. Suggest those taking DCN to practice more on Scenario Q.(those with ccnp foundations may overlook this point, I am one of them  .
Had use Ciscopress DCN guide and sybex guide.
Also browse through Cisco internetwork design to get a indepth view of the topics.
Decide to take a break on cisco tracks,

| Thanks for the tips Bernardism! I just got done with Microsoft for a while, and decided to take Cisco back up. I have the DCN book and the CCDA prep book. Do you think those are enough? I do not have CCNP, but I do have CCNA... Congrats on your test, and good luck on MCSA! If you need any help on it when you get there... let me know.  | |

| Well done on the pass bernardsim!!
The CCDA is a hard exam thanks largely to those bloody case studies.
necrophantasm - the CCDA can be done with only a CCNA and not a CCNP - you just have to know a broad range of technologies, products etc. At the end of the day I don't think the CCNP study really helps with the case studies anyway!
That said, it is probably the harder way to do it!
BTW I found the Cisco Press study guide to be a better book for this exam.

| Hey friend, why don't take one more test to get the CCDP. Just one, CID, though it is much much difficult (no case study, just mcs, check one out of five choices. It is tough because all possible answers are too similar and seems to be corrected.Hardly to pick the one of the best answer).

| Hey necrophantasm, in my opinions I feel that for a CCNA, other than DCN study guide, you will find it really helpful on DCN exam if you know more on the wan technology,( like frame relay,isdn,etc)as what Bugz said.
Thanks pomerol82 for your concern. you mean CID exam has no case study Q?
Though Design exams is more on pre. sales.
Might plan to take this after I complete 2 or 3 of
the microsoft exams, which would probably be end of the year. Hopefully before it change the exam version. Anyone with news on that? |
