| Here's my story -
Passed CID with a 785!!-slides into home plate and is safe !! ] - barely. Tough test.
I used the Exam Guide Cisco press ( Mike Crane / Reggie Tarrell ) - through-in and through out. Studied Cisco's site on Internetowrk Design. Read and re-read. I used the exam outline from Cisco's site too and built my notes from the outline. I used an audio tape I made myself of notes to help me memorize the little facts.
Went to a new testing center in Colorado ( I used to live in Dallas and had a great place I went too + was comforable with there ). The new place was cool - they even had free coffee and tea + open on Saturdays. Nice roomy place to take the test.
Did my usual ritual of putting myself in a 'successful' state before going in to test-which includes some visioning, Pantera, and yes . . even some Briney Spears tunes. ( no teasing, please. ) I use my passed exam papers from prior successful exams
as a visual stimulant before going in as well.
Now the nitty gritty . . the test. Well, I can't say too much because I am all for NDA, but I can tell you it was challenging and that the questions were not straight forward. Really, its all in the Cisco Press on on the site. I am really for going to the SOURCE for info and don't usually use Todd Lammle books - just straight Cisco Press. The CID Exam guide was a great tool to prepare. It's all there !!!
Ah . . one last thing. Thanks to the folks on the site. There are a lot of good hints/ideas here. It really is a strong pool of knowledge when you have Cisco gurus from all over the globe come and put their thoughts here. So Thanks to all of you !!!
On to CCIP !
PEACE!

| Congra.!
Yes, exams. of design track are hard. I ranked the most difficult exam. in CCC to be DCN & CID.
Next move? CCNP? | |

| Thanks. Next move is the Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks Exam (640-901)* - I did the CCNP routing in the 507 series. This new type of exam seems challenging to me. Plus the BSCI adds IS-IS protocol. Seems like a great way to prep for CCIE to me.
Thanks again for the cool wishes, and not making fun of me because I listen to Britney Spears. (haha)
PEACE!

| I just now got the Timberlake joke !!
Never made that connection before.
I did want to add something, I know earlier I said that I usually stray from Todd Lammle books - however I did want to include that they were real good when I was very first getting started and for understanding basics. For instance, I learned subnetting and supernetting from Lammle. There is lots of valuable info in his books.
As far as the exam itself, - I would imagine its probably the same 'pool' of authors at Cisco Press that design the exam questions and theory. Thats why I think it is always good to use a Cisco Press book for a Cisco exam. And, no I don't work for Cisco Press
A buddy of mine once said - " always go to the source."
PEACE!
