had failed the exam today.
Did not expect so many scenaro questions,(about 30 questions)though study the CCDA study guide from ciscopress, alot of questions does not come from the book,(a few Q is quite subjective). Also, many questions is base from CCNP fountation.(the DCN book cover briefly on these topics).

Plan to take the exam again in 2 weeks time. appreciate if any one could recommended any books, websites that have good info for DCN exam?

bernardsim, too bad u failed the exam Better luck next time dude.

I am taking my CCDA exam soon and was using the cisco press exam guide as my study material. I was getting 90% on the chapter tests etc and felt pretty confident. But when I had a go on some of the demo exams around the place I was failing!!!!

does anyone out there know how much of the ccda exam is based on the examguide book and how much is based on CCNP knowledge??

Bugz.

I'm sorry to hear you failed, I'm surprised the number of case study questions threw you - just look through all the recent posts?

I'd suggest the exam cert guide if you don't already have it, it has lots of case studies.

Getting ready for my third try on the CCDA. The last time I got a 727 close but not good enough. My biggest problem at the time was cramming my study into a short period. (one week break between college classes.) I also was relearning study habits. Case studies can be tricky. Go over the ones in your DCN book. As well as the ones in the CISCO CCDA Exam certification guide. Another Cisco tool is the CISCO CCDA training kit (it is a cd rom). You have two different exams to practice(too bad that is one one case study and the case study is the same for both test engines). I do recommend boson or another test site. 441 is a progressive test meaning if you miss a question in one section they will hit you with another in the next few questions. That may be why you had a lot of case study questions. I also went around to the various sites and downloaded their free cram sheets. It helped a lot. Getting 80-90s on the test engines. Study and Good luck you pass it next time around.

Yes, I was surprised in the exam. that those case studying questions appeared endlessly.

In fact, they ware not really difficult. When the first case appears, drop notes according to the design guideline suggested by Cisco Press textbook, such as business constrain, protocol analysis & etc. Note the wording in question, such as questioning "topology design" that answer choices concerning hardware can be ignored.

For the non-case studying questions, they are just "bonus" for a CCNP but may be an alien to a CCNA such as concept of VLSM, OSPF, Cisco gear specification & etc. including in those questions though they are very basic.

This was one of my two exams that I felt no confidence to pass (the other one was switching beta) though luckily I was passed the both at first attempt.

Good Luck! I'd like to share with you the experience.
