| Well this test was easier than I thought. I read the CID book twice. All topic are pretty much a review except the ATM. I skipped the SNA , IPX and Apple Talk stuff since they are removed from the test. All questions are multiple choice, no fill in , no exhibit, 75 questions, passing score 755.
Boson test set #1 was helpful.
Now move on CCIE and maybe MCSE.

| Congradulations on a great score.
I'm working on this exam also.
Questions:
On Cisco's Website, as of 6/11, they noted under WAN design using Cable or DSL as an option. Were any questions on any of these topics?
Which CID book were you using?

| The book I use was Cisco press' CID book by Birkner. It is pretty close to the test. No there were no cable modem and DSL as options. Cisco still use those frame relay , ISDN and analog modem as WAN technology.
Good luck ! | |

| Congra.!
Thank for your info. I overlook that there is no more AT, IPX & SNA in CID. I use Sybex of yr.2000 edition. I just finished AT section but not yet start SNA & IPX! You save my time!
I have a question about access-list. Sybex said for exam. purpose of CID, access-list should implement at access layer while other exams. such as CCDA, it should be applied at distribution layer. For this exam., should I believe Sybex? I am learned from studying of my CCNP that access-list should be implemented at distribution for policy and security purposes. It confuses me.
Thanks a lot! | |

| cid, birkner book.
you don't have to get far to find your answer. page 10.
"... distribution tier...This tier is often where network policy is implemented as well (that is, security, access lists, and so on)..."
ciscopress/cisco documentation all the way.
edit:
you will want to check
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm
networking information/internetworking design guide
internetworking design basic
under *evaluating distribution services* you see the following
