I'm quite nervous about this one. I don't think the book I got did very much for me (Inside Scoop to CCDA Certification). I've been through enough of these tests to learn to relax and all that jaz, but what I need are some tips from people who have taken this exam specifically. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

It sucks, it is long and gruling. I used almost all of my time and I do this for a living (network consulting). But here are some pointers that will help you out.

Take it easy, there will be about 4-5 scenarios in which you will read this long-as-hell situation to get a simple answer out of it. READ IT well the first time. It will come back in random order so if you know where the answer is, you won't waste your time reading the whole thing over again.

Know what groups of routers are good for what situations. Remeber that cheaper is better but you have to be able to support the functionality of the network and support growth.

Stay in your lane!! Remeber, they don't expect you to design Enterprise Networks, that is later on in the CCDP or CCIE levels.

Take you notes of what you have a hard time remebering with you before you go into the test and just before you go in, hammer them into your head, write them down and you will be there.

Lastly, don't get lazy, it is timed and you will use quite a bit of it so don't 'pole vault over rat turds'. If you don't see a story question and you have been there for over 10 minutes, elimninate what it couldn't be and make a best guess, move on.

Oh, also, know your key words on what will determine what kind of WAN connection to use. This will be a big part. You need to know what information levels require Frame Relay, ISDN, X.25, Asynch, and so on. Know it, memorize it, you will see the same buzz words in the scenarios. Example, noisy connection - X.25 off the bat. Also if the customer 'tells you' he wants Frame Relay, hell, he is paying for it, it is his network. The CCDA book tells you when to use these types of connections.

Thanks for the input. How many questions require you to know the difference between router and switch models? Specifically questions like which ones have fiber, which ones don't or other differences in capabilities.
