| I just passed CCNA yesterday, and I have been thinking about CCDA and CCDP.
Would someone recommend the best reading material for the CCDA ? I am going to do it the same way I did CCNA, I got Todd Lammle's Study Guide and Routersim and studied hard, and used the routersim every available hour I had. I heard good things about the Cisco Press study guide, because of all the case studies they cover, but would surely appreciated comments from actual users of the study guides.
Thanks

| Todd Lamle's CCDA book is OK, should be sufficient if you also know your CCNA stuff. For CCDP, I would suggest the one from CISCO. Sybex's CCDP does not cover SNA evenly, and you do get a number of questions on SNA and AppleTalk. | |

| Hacker.
Thanks for the reply and suggerstion. After a lot of checking, I decided for CCCDA Exam Certification Guide, by Bruno and Kim, released by Cisco Press. I am also ordering Designing Cisco Networks. Started on CCDA Exam Guide and I like it. It seems to have a very direct approach to the subject. Deep but no frills.
Thanks again

| For both the CCNA and the CCDA I used the CiscoPress exam guides and Lammle's Sybex books, plus various exam notes. I think the books complement one another, as the Cisco's are straightforward and comprehensive and Lammle's are more user-friendly. Using two sets of sample tests also helps, as there is enough variety between the two to achieve a well-rounded pool of questions to master. I am hoping to stick with this same formula as I undertake the CCNP track--and wear my lucky shirt on test day for good measure! | |

Good suggestion, thanks.
I used Lammle's study guide for CCNA, and it was good reading. The first time I had any experience with Cisco Press books was with the CCDA Exam Guide, that I just got. I think I like it better, in the sense that there isn't too much blahblahblah, it is straight to the point, and I think the language is simpler.
I am also making use of materials available on Cisco's web site, and everything you can find on the net.
This is a great Forum, and I am glad to see the amount of solid information available here.
Thanks
