| I completly agree with mp3server, it won't go away but it might change.
The scope of the exam is getting a little behind and will probably be re-vamped to accomidate things like VPN, PKI, and other new technologies. IOS 12.0 is at the core of what is discussed so I do believe that once 12.0 has been adapted to some of the newer technologies, it will probably change.
There are also new Cisco products that are not part of the exam yet. To add onto that, I didn't have any questions about IOS functions such as VPN. SOHO solutions will start to come into play as the internet gets cheaper, should see a new line of low cost Cisco solutions that take this into account probably integrating a little cleaner with cable modems and DSL in lower cost models.
One example of routers not on the exam yet in the growing field of SOHO solutions is the 1700 series routers. You can check one out here. I didn't even know about them until someone posted a question about it.
http://www.network-exchange.com/pro...CO1720-ADSL.htm
Offers high end solutions such as VPN and multi-protocol management with good software solutions and DSL support for half the cost of a comparable 25/2600 series router (about $1700.00 new).
So look out CCDA's we might fall into the version trap in the near future so get that CCNP fast!! |
