Hi all,

Just want to share my experiences regarding the CID 3.0 exam I've taken last week(end of June, 2001).

My first impression is, the exam wording is very vague, and it's tough.

I guess I would failed after 1/3 of the exam.

I am start thinking whether to retake the exam(i.e., whether spend 2 more weeks going through AGAIN that horrible 4 inches thick materials, and gambling another $150USD) or just hand-off, when I am at 2/3 of the exam.

I decided that I should go to have a big-dinner before I pressing the finished button, as I believed that it would be more enjoyable to finish a $150USD-dinner rather than another $150USD-exam.

Surprisingly, I passed with a score of 804.
(Well, this is good enough for me already).

After the exam, my 2nd through is, the exam wording is vague because those answers look very similar and the selection are mixed with correct and wrong ans.

e.g. Which of the following is correct ?
A. 1+1=2 and 2+2=3
B. 3+3=6 and 4+4=8
C & D. obviously wrong ans

You need to know the correctness for all 4 cases(1+1, 2+2, 3+3 and 4+4) before you can make the correct choice of B.

Besides, it really test you in depth theory and specific details instead of generalized theory. Unlike other CCNP exam, where you can answer those questions by conceptal/logical thinking and hands-on experiences.

Lastly, I prepare the exam using the Sybex and official CID material. Combine with the knowledge via the other core 3 exams that's all you need to shoot this down.
Good luck and have a nice day(dinner as well) !

Best Wishes,
Wan
