Passed...my thoughts

| Hi guys...I passed today and I'm disapointed with the exam. IMO it's easier than the CCNA but what's unfair with this exam is the "famous Cisco wording" of questions. While I could bear it regarding the CCNA, it's simply unacceptable when asking questions regarding the business cases. I mean in real life if something is not clear enough, you call the customer and you make sure that everything is clear (I'm talking from experience here).
Honestly I didn't study that much and I waisted my money on the sybex book
Some tips b4 I forget: Know the steps (prototype design, pilot design, design documents and every key points related to each step), Know ATM aal and be prepared for a LOT of question on the cases. Not much on OSPF.
Well that's for now, If you have questions, don't hesitate

| I forgot to post the materiel I used: Sybex study guide and study guides from cramsession and this site. That's all. | |
|
| Congratulations!
Many thanks for the heads-up also!

| Dark,
I passed CCDA today.
Looks like we didn't write the same exam...
To me this was a very well written , reasonably difficult and serious exam.
I didn't find it ambiguous at all.
Tiresome, yes....you need endurance to go through all that business burp in each case study, and to commit it to memory. But I can tell you, from my experience, this is EXACTLY how the customers will word their request.
After sitting the CIT exam , I thought that CISCO went nuts and subcontracted the exam-writing project to the cheapest technical writers out there...
But the DCN (CCDA exam) was a pleasant revelation that CISCO's not nuts on all fronts....
Cheers. | |

| About 4 case studies , long and convoluted ones, referenced over and over in....many, many questions.
I couldn't tell you how many questions ....looked like more that 1/2 of the exam to me...
|
| Hi
I would say about 4 case studies too. I do believe that we didn't get the same exam at all. I work in LAN/WAN design and believe me I know how customers word their requests...but the wording in the exam was sooo poor.
I think my next step would be to get certified in Cisco security (3 exams If I remember correctly)
I would say half of the questions were on case studies too.
I thank you all for your kindness and your help
Go get them guys |
