| Hi everyone... I am planning on takin gmy CCDA exam 2 weeks later and have gone through the Cisco Press DCN book.
Is the steps mentioned in the book important? Like 7 steps to determine customer requirement, 12 steps for characterizing the network etc... Do we have to memorize all these steps by heart or it is just a brief guideline to have a general ideas ??
Alsothe book provide some table like traffic overhaed for various protocols, no of packet for protocols initialization.... it that important ??
really appreciate if you guys could help clarify.... It's been tough trying to remember all this information....

| General idea is enough for those 7 steps/12 steps. It has about 1-2 questions about it.
Traffic overhead? No need to remember how many packets but you should have rough idea about which protocol has more overhead. | |

| Thanks friend...
that really helps... hope you're working well with your CCNP....

| I agree with kk1186. The CCDA is more general in content than some of the material presented in the book, but the information is wide ranging. It is a great exam to prepare you for general LAN design. Good luck. |
