Let me start by saying I do not want to know the exact questions nor any links to brain dumps!!

I am about to take this test in a few days and would like to get a general overview of what the test is like. Is there alot of scenario questions like the CCDA? Or is it more like the CCNP tests? Information in that regard would be great. Thanks.

Hi Harl,
Passed today with a 797!!! The exam is 100 questions with a 755 passing mark. You have 2 hours to complete. I finished exam in 1 hour and
and cannot believe my score. I was not rushing through the questions and was very confident of my answers? I was happy to see " Congratulations "
but was taken off guard by my score. There were only 5 or 6 questions I was not sure of the answer
and was very confident when I hit the final enter.
797. Whoa! Looking back I think I should have taken more time on each question and would have
gotten a higher pass grade. There were several questions that asked for 1 choice but two were correct. I am happy that I passed but disappointed
in my score. Now on to help you. I had 9-10 SNA
questions, 2 APPN questions, 4 ISDN questions,
3 IP addressing questions, 2 security questions,
10-15 routing protocol questions. So to answer your original post, this test is not scenerio based. There are a few questions, about 10 regarding design based scenerios but for the most
part is CCNP style. Now for what I did not see on
my test ( please don't forget all tests are random) - No NAU / No NVE / No steps in design
goals/methodolgy / Maybe 4 questions on Desktop /
About 3 questions on design layers. The rest consisted of a myriad that I went through but cannot remember but will advise know WAN well.
No case study bull---- Best of luck.

Danny-

Took the test today and failed. Scored a 720. Since I was not that far off gonna keep studying and retake the exam on either wednesday or friday. This exam is hard for me since I only work with TCP/IP and the only routing protocols I deal with are IS-IS, BGPv4, and MPLS. 80% of what is on the test I dont see everyday. thanks for your input though. I will post again when I take it next.

Harl,
Hang in there. I am sure you will pass on your next attempt. You have a good understanding of
what to expect and will succeed. Best of luck.

Hi,

Harlequiin,I hope you pass it this time. I like the fighting spirit you have. I was also scheduled for CID this week, but I will have to shift it, since I have just been told I have a 3 days Compaq training this week.

I believe i will take the exams early next week. Where did you get materials for the SNA part.

Thanks

Hey Alt-

I am using the Ciscopress CID book. I found out from some of the CCIEs I know that all of the career cert tests questions are written from the course materials. mainly because cisco gets all the CCIEs to write the questions. The SNA questions I ran into are covered in the ciscopress book. I dont know what you are using for study material though. If you are not using thst book then I would suggest going to the cisco website and finding some white papers on SNA design. Hope this helps. The fighting spirit comes from wanting to finish the CCDP so I can move on to the Juniper JCIE which is more relevant to my career at this point. Let me know how you do.

I have taken the test twice now. This in my opinion is a hard test. I have read the DCN book three times. I know it alot better than I did. You might try www.cheetsheets.com This is very good. Just got it today.

Hey everyone-

Passed yesterday, wednesday, with a 790. While I am happy with passing I did think I did better than that. Danny, I had the same feeling you did. Well, thanks for the support and help. Oh and timb, use either the cisco CID book for this test not any cheetsheets. The DCN book will not cover what you will see. And for everyones knowledge, know the specs for the IPX and BPX ATM switches. Had a few questions on those.

Congrats Harlequiin.
