CCDA Test Question

| I'm a CCNP preparing to finsh up my CCDP. I'm getting ready to take the CCDA soon. So far everything that I've studdied seems to be a review from the CCNP test. Can anyone tell me the format of this test and how it compares to the CCNP/CCNA test. I've heard that there could be several senairos with 5 to 10 question to follow. Can some one please tell me what to expect and how would you rate the difficulty in comparison to the CCNP/CCNA test. Thanks!!! | |

| this exam is very much scenerio based with lots of long questions that will tax your brain cells heavy. i would recommend that you get the DCN book from Cisco press and the CCDA Exam certification guide also from cisco press. those books will give you a taste of how cisco will test you on the real ccda exams and some of the questions on the ccda exam will be from those books.
this exam is a toughie do not let the low passing mark fool you.

| I agree - theyre the books I had, and would suggest if you were only buying one to get the cert guide. The scenarios are the bulk of the exam, practice them over and over - there is a pattern to them - sometimes you don't even need to read the scenario. The bosons were good as well for the scenarios. If you master these you'll pass easy.
Secondly make lots of notes when the scenario first appears.
The exam wasn't that hard but mentally it was very taxing. I wasn't quite with it for a couple of hours afterwards - I certainly shouldn't have driven!!
I have only done the switching so can't really say how it compares, hopefully having done the NP you will have done a lot of the ground work already.

| Hi Guys,
when I took my CCNA exam about 2.5 years ago it was possible to mark a question and go back to it later...
which was good news as I hadn't a clue about the first six questions! I thought I'd been given the wrong exam!
I believe they changed the rules just after that and fixed it so that you answered every question as it came up. Not a 'real world' scenario in my opinion. If you come up against something you're not sure of, you do a little research and go back to it.
In life, it's never been an ambition of mine to get /everything/ right first time without reference to any notes, etc. If it happens it's ok but if it doesn't, so what?
