| Passed CID exam this morning with a score of 846 & am now a CCDP.
This exam was the worst one so far for me as the Cisco form of questioning was even more ambiguous than normal. I'm not sure whether all the older Cisco exams used to be like this or not.
P.S. Know SNA & Appletalk & get your Cisco question answering head on for this one.

| Dillon,
Hey congrats!!! job well done...
Im currently prepping for the CID and Ill be taking it in 2 weeks. Im using the new exam cert guide, boson, and smartforce. I hope this will be enough.
Ill defiantly bone up on SNA and Crappletalk items.
For some reason I not as motivated with my CID studies, I think Im looking ahead to the CCIE but I guess the knowledge learned here will be applicable for the IE.
ANyway,
best of luck

| Great stuff. Good to hear the areas to look at. Just hard to imagine an Enterprise network with Crappletalk in it, almost a contradiction in terms.
Anyhow, I am waiting a couple of months before taking it so I can space out my recertification exmas in case I don't make my CCIE before they expire (that would suck, 3 years and not pass the CCIE)
Sweet, guess that you earned your rest for a while. Got the CISSP in a month, that should suck something horrible. Should look good on the resume though!!

What resources did you use for SNA and Stratacom (besides the CCO).
Thanks,

| For once the Cisco Press book didn't quite cut it. I used the Sybex CID study guide & Cisco Press 'Cisco Internetwork Design' book & found the Sybex one to be better for most information including Stratacom. I also used some CBT modules which proved very helpful for Appletalk & SNA (do not underestimate the Apple & SNA content - yuck!) Finished up with Boson tests to find the holes in what I knew.
All in all, a pretty crap exam with very vague questioning.....best of luck all!

| Congrats on passing.... I just finished up my CCNP this past week and was looking to take the CCDA test. Ive been looking thru the Sybex book and it seems like review. I took Boson Exam #1, tests A and B and made in the low 80's percentage wise. There are a few Q's in there that werent CCNP related and I think I got tripped up on them.
My question is this...How many q's are on the CCDA? I see on the examnotes, they say 65..on Cisco, its up to 88 q's...They also say 90 and some say 120 minutes to take the test. Im a little confused with the amount of time and # of questions... Why such disparity. Can you enlighten us with the # you had?

| To be honest, I can't honestly remember how many were on the CCDA. There were 100 questions for the CID exam & all of them were standard questions with no case studies like the CCDA.
To answer your question, I think the CCDA had around 65 questions in total but timescale is the important thing to remember for the CCDA because of all the case study questions that you need to read through. I scored quite highly on the CCDA & didn't really have a problem with the case study questions (all the info is there for you & on some you don't even need to read the text) where as on the CID a lot of the material that is not covered in detail on the CCNP track (like Appletalk, Netbios, SNA etc.) caused me more problems.
Best of luck with your exam
