Any last minute suggestions for a person who is ready to take the CCDA exam? Tips, Pointers, any help would be greatly appreciated.

To tell you the truth I never even considered failing the exam. I just thought someone might have suggestions on any last minute reading or something of this nature.

Get a good night sleep before you take the test because it is mentally draining. Don't rush through it because they give you two hours to do it and that is more than enough. When I wrote it, I panicked when I hit the first case study, I thought that I was going to run out of time so I rushed through it and finished the test in an hour. I passed it with a good score but I know I would have done better if I would have slowed down. Don't be afraid to take your time on the case studies because the other questions are easy and you can burn through them in no time. I didn't write down any notes about the case studies but I can read fast and remember a lot; some people need to write down notes so whatever works for you is the best way. I also found that some of the questions in the case studies looked completely screwed-up but if you take a deep breath and take a moment to think about it then they suddenly becomes clear. Good luck!

Thank you for the great advice. I will definately do that. I am alittle aprehensive about this test, but then again I was to about the CCNA exam. I bought into everyone saying how hard it is and I thought that test was a piece of cake. I hope this turns out to be the same for me. I mean what one person finds hard another may find it to be easy. Again thank you for your advice, I appreciate it!

I postponed it for a week so I could do more studying. I think I know it but everyone says it is so hard, so I just want to make sure. I will let you know when I pass it.

I kept on doing that - 2 weeks at a time...
It wasn't as hard as I had been led to believe on the forum - but maybe this was because I delayed it so many times I knew the book word for word!!

So whats the real deal with this test? Is it harder or the same as the CCNA exam? I was told that the CCNA exam was so hard and when I took it I thought it was a joke. I honestly thought someone had made a mistake and gave me the wrong test. I believed the hype on that exam and I am being pulled in with this one too. I need to know once and for all from people that have taken and passed, how is it? The key word here is PASSED!! Of course people that have failed will say how hard it was. Thats why I am asking people that have passed. Please help me as I am being pulled down by the hype over this test, I NEED TO KNOW THE REAL DEAL!!!

What your saying is quite comical, after taking the exam I titled a post - don't believe the hype:
http://www.examnotes.net/forums/sho...&highlight=hype

I got a bit carried away though at the start and calmed down later!!

From what I remember the exam is certainly harder than the CCNA, although I scored mid 90's with both. The case studies are a killer mentally - but not that hard when you learn the patterns. Sometimes you don't even need to read them depending on the question.

I know that I did too much studying, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security and waste your $100 (or whatever it costs in the US). However I did too much studying but am confident of designing a network (with bits of help)- it wasn't wasted effort.

Around the time I made the post there were other posts saying similar things. You don't need to be a brain surgeon, its only associate level so is'nt that hard.

As I said earlier - mentally it will tire you, I would be very surprised if it didn't.

Sit it and good luck - you'll know id you've done too much studying (straight after you've sat it).
