| Well I am not up to CCDA yet but would like some info on it. I know that CCDA 2 is coming out and I want to know when the first one is going to retire. I am taking the CIT test on February (last one) and then probably thinking on going for the ccda.. Please let me know.. Thanks | |

You might want to double check any documentation that says there is a CCDA 2.0 coming out, unless it was just announced.
As far as I know, right now there is only one choice for the CCDA, that is exam 640-441.
I do notice that Cisco has changed the format of the tests from previous tests. For instance, you can no longer go back and forth between questions, which you used to be able to do on CCNA 1.0 and earlier versions of CCDA. Hope that helps =) | |

| Thanks. I may sound stupid but Cisco tests never gave you a chance to mark a question because I did take CCNA v1 and passed and then I took CCNA v2 and passed as well and still the same. I passed BSCN,BCMSN,BCRAN and I have the CIT left. I just wanted to know before I even start studying for this test. I know that it may be easier to pass due to the CCNP status but I would like to know the difficulty of the test itself. Taking on CIT on the 16th and then on to Nortel or Checkpoint or even finish up CCDA/CCDP. Thanks for the info and I hope that Cisco doesn't change it. | |

| Tulcingo,
The CCDA will be retired sometime within the next 6 months or so, I'd say. They were testing for the Beta CCDA 2.0 641-520 back late Nov. early Dec. I remember when I was in the US. All you'll need for the CCDA is the Sybex book, and the CID, Cisco's book is good enough. As for Checkpoint, contact
courseware@ts.checkpoint.com for their material. Both certifications of CCSA/CCSE are a good 7 days brain workout.
good luck...

| I'm scheduled for the CCDA--DCN 640-441. I do not know if that is v1 or v2. The 641-520, I believe, was the beta test for CID, to complete the CCDP track. I have not heard of a successor to the 640-441.
I'm scheduled on 1/29. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

| Hi Tulcingo,
I wonder why you will go for Nortel tests. I am working with Nortel products but it disappointed me totally. I just want to know if there is any market for Nortel Cert.
