Cisco Product Selection Questions!?
|
|
|
| Hello, I need some advice on it before I write the test on this Friday.
How many Cisco product selection questions are there in CCDA test? I am very weak on it when I take the Boson.
Thanks | |

| there were a bunch on mine..im not complaining though...if i didnt know the answere to the question i just picked the product on the last choice! lol...most of them were the type of questions where picking the cisco product was only ONE of the choices..the rest of the choices were something else entirely...i think you get extra credit or something, for recommending a cisco product! | |

| Thanks.
Actually the Boson questions are diffcult to me like selecting routers between 804, 2501, 1604 and 760 for the most cost effective way to get one Ethernet port and one ISDN BRI port.
It's fine if there is only one Cisco product in the list.

Assuming you've read the Cisco Press CCDA Exam Certification Guide, Appendix E in the back of the book has a "Cisco Small and Medium Business Solution Guide", which talks about the various router and switch platforms and where they fit in. While you probably do not need to know that the Cisco 3640 router has 4 network module slots, you will get a good idea about which platforms are good for small, medium, and large networks.
From what I have seen in previous posts, the questions are somewhat general. For instance, if the questions asks which model is good for small business, and your choices are Cisco 1600, 4500 and 7500, you should be able to pick out the correct platform.
Alternatively, you can always go to the Cisco product selection tool online at "http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/front.x/corona/prodtool/select.pl" . That way if you are curious to know which routers support DSL, click on the "DSL" box, click "Find", and the list of routers will be displayed.
Hope that helps, and good luck on the exam! =)

| I just took the EXAM today (And Failed 698), (1/17/01), there are far less questions on products than what BOSON focuses on, however there were about 3 and none of them were in depth like the BOSON EXAM, I can tell you the 2500 and 2400 series was on there, but bare in mind, that when I had the question there were several answers in which 3 of them were not product answers. For example if BOSON ask the question there would be 4 different products, However on the actual EXAM there is only one Product (2504) or something like that, But the other answers would be other explainations using more of an generic product. There were no 3600 Product Line!, no 1601 or 1604, just the 2400 and 2500 series, (At least on my EXAM)I hope this enough If I go any further I might get myself in trouble with Cisco!
