Author What would be a good book

Hey everyone in a week or so I plan on starting to study for the CCDA test and I would like to know what is the best book out there on this test I have liked the Sybex books because they almost always seem to come with some good study tools and seem geared more for the tests but on CCDA I am not sure please let me know what you think.

Cisco Press Books are quite a good resource for CCDA.

I have to agree with the Cisco Press books. I think the Sybex books are ok, but in my opinion they don't go into enough detail to help you learn all of the stuff needed for the real world. So if your goal is only to pass exams, then go Sybex, if you want to know your stuff well, then get the Cisco Press (and the Sybex if you have the $$$)

I agree with Tom. If you only want to use one book, I would suggest the Cisco Press. If you would like more than one point of view, Sybex is great too.

I purchased three books to study for the CCDA. I read Sybex's book first and was really disappointed. There seemed to be a lot of CCNA type info in there, and some of it is certainly related to the CCDA exam, but the book hardly discusses the actual design and steps of design at all. I just read through it again as I am in the final stretch for studying and was still disappointed. However, as in all books, there is certainly some good info in there.

The second book I read was the Cisco press book. This book has a lot of information and really goes over the information you need to know. Invaluable.

The third book I was also really happy with. It is the CCDA Study Guide by Syngress. This is the kind of book that gives you a well rounded view of the CCDA. It has the information you need to know for the test and also "extra" information. This book has helped put everything together and I am feeling confident that I know the information that will be on the CCDA.

Whatever you chose its always a good idea to have more than one source of information at the least. Good luck to you =)
