Hi ,

I just ordered the Sybex book for the CCDA can anyone give me any feedback about this book ? Anyone know of some other good books to use ? Also do you think it is better to try and get the CCDA before you start on the CCNP ?
Thanks ,

Originally the book of choice was Designing Cisco Networks from Cisco Press. I believe they now have an exam study guide out for the CCDA also.

The CCDA has very little to do with any of the CCNP exams. Many choose to do the CCDA after the CCNA simply because it is only one exam for the certification.

OK Rich, I do not recommend the Sybex book at all for the CCDA exam. It was my worst experience with Sybex. Use the CiscoPress books DCN or any CCDA Cert. book. This exam had to be the most difficult exam i have ever taken. I think mainly because Sybex left out so much of what was on the exam. I failed it my first time and then went back and studied the Cisco book. Passed with a decent score the second time around.

BTW, the only benefit you get with CCDA is if you're working with a Cisco Reseller who needs your CCDA cert to further their own status to Premier or Silver.
