| Finally after the second try I passed this test it is much harder than the CCNA because you are not sure what to study from. I used the DCN Cisco Press book, the CCNA certification book by Kim, and the Top Down Network Design book, and the ITM CD all were helpful and all were useful. There is a ATM training disc from the Cisco DCN course I got it and that was very useful. Alot of questions on frame relay, ATM, X.25, SDLC, SNMP, Netware and this disc was great in the help of studying these items.
Everyone wants this forum up and going Boson tests and the DCN cert. book are much easier than the actual test. To get this forum going you must ask alot of questions....A good thought selection on the test if asked and a router or switch are an answer these are red herrings only answer to switch or router if asked. | Congragulations.
I'm on the quest also. I'm using the CCDA Prep kit, contains the DCN, CCDA cert guide and internetworking tech guide. I'm also reading Topdown Net designs.
Do you think that these are enough to pass the test or would you suggest something else?
thanks

| The books you have chosen will be enough to pass, the top down book and cert book are both good because it makes you understand the fundamentals of network design alot of ccda questions are trying to trick you on questions. If you understand the design concepts that's have the battle. Alot of the answers are very easy but to do questions wording you begin to have self doubt. Please note there are routing and switching protocols you must know and learn as I said the following SDLC, SNMP, netware, x.25,frame relay, atm,CIR and ethernet lan's all of them even the 100vg-anylan. | |

| I am using the Boson EXAMS (All 3) and of course the Famous Top & Down Book, I am almost done with all the reading and the BOSON EXAMS, My question to you, is this in your opinion is enough to pass the EXAM?
If not what else is there that you would recommend,

Regarading all 3 Boson's I don't know if they fully cover the topics I talked about SNMP,SDLC,ATM...etc from my previous posts are important topics as they are on all the tests. If this info is not on the boson test you might have to look up all the areas I have talked about these specific areas on the last posts. The desinging is 60% and the 40% is all the info about bridge & routing protocols, know your switching protocols, translation, transparent, Source route briging and the combination with SRB and translation & transparent. | |

| Thank you for your input, The Boson EXAM (At least the one I have) has quite a few Question on FRAME RELAY (CIR,PIR, BECN,ETC..), Also about ATM, the SDLC, only talked about the Applications that it is used for such as SNA.
I only have one clarification to ask from you,
Did you use the PrepBOSON EXAM
By the I called Boson and talked with an Instructor and asked him about the case studies, He admitted that the Boson EXAM were Weak, and advised me that using the Brain.Buzz Cram Notes should help some, Any Way thank you for help!
