What type of Routers and what type of switches should I try and get for a home lab. Also, how many of each?

Thank You

I'm using two 1924EN switches and three 2501 routers. This setup is getting my by with most things, but I wish I had the money for some 2600 series routers and 2900 or 3500 series switches.

2600 non-XMs will start to get cheaper soon. Cisco has stopped software support and will discontnue them soon.

True,

However, the 2500 series hasn't been supported for years and they are still readily available on the internet as the entry level learning router.

Sorry, was referring to labs and people beyond your entry level but thanks for confirming my facts.
