Hi All,
I finally passed my CCNP composite yesterday by a very very narrow margin I got 759, passmark was 755, I had exactly 1 week to go before my CCNP expired and I already failed it 1.5 weeks ago so the pressure was on.
I estimate that I got approx. 15-20 questions which were the same as the previous one that I failed 1.5 weeks ago (which I was very surprised at because I did not expect any previous questions to come up). Sims were exactly the same (2 on OSPF single/multi area, 1 static NAT and 1 on password configs), drag/drop this time was on the 6 HSRP states and previous one was on MLS (MLS-RP/SE etc.)

sajjad,

just wondering what you used to prepare for the composite(642-891) exam.

I have to re-cert my ccnp soon, it has been a while since seeing those cisco style questions!

Hi Robwu,
I used Boson Tests v5.35, what I did was go through the routing tests and switching tests twice and then I did the composite tests (3 runs). I also used cisco press exam exam certification guides, I got the library version which had the full set of 4 books ( which cost about £80 UK sterling from http://www.compman.co.uk/). I also used my previous notes when I did my CCNP 3 years ago.
Hope that helps, if you require more info. let me know (see e-mail on the original posting)

Hi Sajjad,

well done! It must be a great feeling to pass what I think will be the most difficult exam at our level.

Apart from IS-IS, did you find any other major differences between your new books and the ones from three years ago?

I'm wondering if I need to spend money on new books or if I can scrape by with my older ones as I plan to take this exam in late November.

Hi Peter,
Yes u r right, the BSCI exam has IS-IS, but the switching exam has about 6 additional topics. I bought the following CCNP Cert. Library from: http://computer-manuals.co.uk which cost about £80. What I did was I used my old notes and went throught the new BCMSN and BSCI and added stuff that I didn't have and then revised from those notes. I also used Boson v5.35 which helped a lot, With Boson, I went through ALL the BSCI and BCMSN tests twice and then did the Composite Tests (3 times over).
Hope that helps, if u require more info. let me know.
