Boy I can't seem to get motivated to keep studying for the BSCI exam. I was all gun ho after passing my CCNA exam and now it seems I can't get back into that mind set of "ANY FREE TIME I HAVE I STUDY"

Any suggestions?

I am looking at this book, too... It is a thick and long reading ...

honestly estimate the time you need to study for this exam if you are motivated.

add 2 weeks to that time to allow for slacking.

register the exam for that time

promise yourself that you will not cancel or reschedule, either take the test and pass or take it, fail it and eat that 125 bucks.

still not motivated and cancel/change exam date, then ask yourself "why bother" and really examine your motivation for pursuing this certification.

Popdevil,

I hope you are motivated now,
because mikop's response has "almost" motivated me!

...maybe because the BSCI is just an expansion of the CCNA and it seems like the same old, same old.

...but bottom line, slap yourself in the face and as in the words of Nike "JUST DO IT!"

Popdevil I know how you feel.

Its just soooo dull. takes a lot of discipline to study the comparison of ISIS to OSPF etc etc. Perhaps if all I did at work was config Routers I might find it more relevant. I think the motivation will come when my CCNA is close to timing out.

I find my motivation with Linux. I've been learning Linux. I'm a real hands on person so I've built a couple of Linux computers and even though remote access is not part of the exam I've been getting them setup via the wan and trying to use them on a day to day basis instead of Windows so I'll learn the stuff that only hands on can teach you.

I've not been reading as much as I should though, that's that fault.
