They changed it last year around August/September time if memory serves.

Relax, you'll study better.

What is that to mean?

I think Yankee is still bitter and having a go at certain members.

Let it go, everyone else has.

Bitter? Never.

Maybe I better look up the meaning of syllabus.

actually i've never known yankee to to be bitter, just a good tech.

it looks like it's someone else who's bitter and needs to let go.

I don't know the politics or the history of this argument, nor am I partial to certain users, but to note the obvious, Lexy offered a helpful answer to this post and yankee came of with "ya the new title will be CCNF.... Cisco Certified Network Fakes," and though I'm still not sure what that is to mean, I don't think that it was a statement that was intended to answer or to relate to the original question in any way. From my narrow perspective, the antagonist in this particular instance is yankee.

You are correct.

Yankee and dmaftei (who is no longer a member of examnotes) have a history of giving Lexy a hard time. They didn't like the fact that they couldn't control things. That's how I see it anyway.

dmaftei got his butt smacked in this thread and shortly thereafter, he left examnotes for good.

hopefully he left en for groupstudy where real technical study and discussion is.
i'm really done with the know-it-alls here.
90% of posts here could be covered by an faq.

if anyone has noticed madchef (who does have a #) is long gone from this forum.
you guys can live here and play with the kiddies and cheaters and relish and marvel at your technical mastery of the ccna forum.
play nice and get over yourselves.

...that's precisely what Yankee and dmaftei did for so long. The only reason that the two of them aren't still playing the technical masters of the kiddies and cheaters is that frankly they can't stand Lexy (that and the obvious fact that dmaftei got slammed down hard in the General Discussion forum). Yankee was the one always talking about how he was the "elder" (sounds like he thought he was the "master" to me)!

I'm confused by your reply in that you yourself still post in the CCNA forum at times, and truthfully Yankee was the one who started this crap up again in this thread. The rest of us had gotten over it, but apparently not him.

I know he's your buddy (or as he would say "fellow elder"), and you're just sticking up for him.....but you're wrong.

I will take a shot at this thread.

The point imo is...

As a professional, or wannabe professiona... what is this deal with

" I heard this rumor, can someother person who may or may not know confirm for me"

When I first saw this post *b4 any reply yet*, I was tempted to 1. post a helpful reply, then I ask myself... do I really know.

What is the time reference for 1. myself. 2. his source.

for those who currently study it, how many of you actually went and look at the syllabus or are we just going off by exam number.

If he does not have the old syllabus which he base his study on, then does the change really matter.

If he has the syllabus, why can't he compare it himself, but rather come to a third party source.

I couldn't care less if anyone is certified, but there must be some minimum common sense and drive that should be shared by us all. There are go getters and there are ppl who take whatever they are given... Professionalism... or just another cert for the wannabe tech... Atleast live up to the mantra of every tech.. " I may not know it, but I know how to find it."

I definitely agree that there seems to be a shortage of people who know how to find certain answers for themselves.

hence the link at the bottom of my posts.
i can't know everything. sometimes i forget something i did 6 months ago and need a refresher. knowing how to find something on the doc cd could save you in the lab.
granted you have to know the core to have a chance.
but what about the other 10% ?
i'm also at a point where i only open a tac when i'm really stuck. then is close the ticket before they get back to me, because i've already found the answer.

I do have the syllabus.. and I had done the comparison...What made u think that I had not done?

U know what?? The reason why people ask a question or post a question in a forum is to get response and confirmation from people who are willing to give and share their advices and opinions. I posted the question becoz I want to be very certain with my findings. How can I be very sure that the information that I have gathered "by myself" is 100% accurate and up to date??

U know what?? Even if anyone of u here tell me something about the syllabus... I will not believe it blindly... I will find evidence for it!! And I believe that anyone will do so...

I think that u have not posted one becoz u are so good at finding urself answers...

This reminds me of the CCNA forum last month!

If he doesn't know the answer, he will know where to find it by reading, searching or asking someone!

Quite simple, really.

Yes, but did you go the the Cisco web site first before you asked that question here? That's the first thing I would have done, and if it wasn't posted there, I darn sure would not come into a forum and ask that question, because all you would hear is "word of mouth" and not from "the horse's mouth". If Cisco is going to change exams or syllabus, they will post it on their website.

Anyway, someone else in this thread asked the same question a little over a month ago. As you can see it was old news.

Many say there is no such thing as a stupid question, but I think there is when the question can be answered by a quick trip to cisco.com

I have posted a few. here is a list, should be almost complete

1st post.

2nd
http://www.examnotes.net/article56463.html

3rd
http://www.examnotes.net/message1170449.htm

4th
http://www.examnotes.net/message1132189.htm

5th
http://www.examnotes.net/message1131067.htm

I will allow myself a few more post that I may not remember.

See how I set up my question by providing background so I would get relevant returns. I tell ppl where I want to go, What I have done to that end and seek information that supplement it. I am not prefect as you can see by my mishap from link 2 but I try not to play 20 questions with ppl who may be of use to me.

but to set the scenario.
it started here
http://www.examnotes.net/article52691.html date 8/01-8/6 2004 to my post on 8/18/02 to my exam on the 20th and 22nd. Call me inept.

oh, and this
6th

I have check Cisco.com!! Now... How darn sure are u?? Too clever aren't u??

As what I have mentioned. All I want is a confirmation from u guys.. If u dun bother to answer, I didn't force u to do so.. The purpose of posting questions in a forum is to start out a discussion so that everyone is convinced with the final output. So,if u believe that Cisco is not going to change it, u can just voice out ur opinions, humbly. Or if u think that this is a stupid question u can just keep ur mouth shut!! Or if u are too free, u can just post "I am too clever to answer ur stupid questions"

quote:
because all you would hear is "word of mouth" and not from "the horse's mouth".

And, next time, dun post any question in this forum becoz u will not believe what is being disscussed in this forum. And most importantly, u can find the answers by urself!

They why did you ask the question? If Cisco is going to change it, they'll post it! Do you think we have some "inside knowledge" of what goes on at Cisco?

My point is, get your info from the source, not from people who really have no clue and would only be speculating or spreading rumours.

By the way, I'm very darn sure!

2004-06-13, 1:52 pm

I swear that I have been to Cisco.com to check for the info!! Believe it or not!!

I heard this rumour from my friend but I di have the opportunity to get more information from him.. So, I visited Cisco.com and tried to verify what he told me. I did not find an information regarding the changes except the changes Cisco made it last year (which I already know about it since last year)! So, to be sure! I posted my question in this forum to see if anyone of you knows about it!!

Now.. do u get the picture?? forbesl!!
