I'm going to give BSCI another shot tomorrow. This time I went through IS-IS heavily and fully understand the different parts of an ISO address and CSNPs vs. PSNPs and all that fun stuff. Reviewed route maps and redistribution a bit more as some of those threw me a bit. I'll let you guys know how it works out tomorrow.

Best of luck for tomorrow, to say Cisco exam questions are ambiguous is an understatement.

Failed again.. 729 this time. I am going to step back for a few weeks and see what alternative methods are available. This is the first time I've failed something twice in 3 years. I may look into getting a few routers so that I can actually set up the configuration and troubleshoot it (right now I have one router and don't have any way to use the show commands to verify connectivity and configuration). If anyone has a few 2500s running IOS 12.0 or later that they are done with please let me know. I don't want to get a whole kit (I've already done BCMSN and BCRAN) but at this point it would be worth looking into getting a couple of routers. Any tips are also welcome. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your BSCI test score. Which labs did they hit you with and were they tough?

The sims are not that difficult. I have had the same 3 both times. OSPF single area, OSPF multiple area, and NAT pool. I won't go into more detail than that.. but that's what you should know how to implement.

Necrophautasm,

I'm not looking for the test answers but could you help me find information on the NAT pool sim. I'm using the Cisco Press book author Gough. There are no examples of configuring Nat in the book any information would be appreciated.

I picked up another book yesterday that may help to fill in the gaps for me. Its the Cisco Press book by Catherine Paquet (I have been studying off of the Claire Gough CP book). It looks like it goes into more detail about some things. Has anyone read this, and if so, how does it compare to the official study guide? I am going to start reading it today and will probably try to retake the test in 2-4 weeks. This book was published in April, whereas the other was published last November (so I'm hoping some of the things on the test that my book doesn't even touch on will be covered in this new one... such as private IS-IS numbers and private Autonomous system numbers).

Sounds like you have found what you need.

Best of luck.
