Dear Cisco Experts:

My CCNP certificate will be expired in July,2005 .

I have the following question, I wish someone can give me an answer:

(1) If I have time during this period and take the Cisco exam, also I passed the 642-891. Cisco will valid my CCNP. It means my certificate will be valid to
2004 + 3years = 2007,
or 2005 + 3years = 2008 !

(2) If I failed the 642-891, does it mean I need to retake four CCNP exam again? Or no matter how many times I failed in 642-891, if I passed the 642-891 before July,2005. I still continue to vaild my CCNP.

I would think, but can't swear that you can recertify at any time.

You can fail the composite exam as many times as you want as long as you pass it before your expiration date.

Thanks Yankee:

It looks not that bad of Cisco recertification compare to Microsoft accelerate exam 70-240.
Anyway I will focus on the Cisco Certificate Wireless specialist in next week, I wish I can pass.

Don't take the recert exam lightly as there is a ton of material that they can ask you about. There have been a few other recent threads on this subject that you can read.

1. Your recert date will be the date you pass the exam. So if you pass the exam 6 months early, you will have 3 years from that date.

2. You can take the exam as many times as your wallet allows.

Good Luck
