| Does anyone have any book and supplement advice for this exam? It would be cheaper than taking all 4 exams like I was originally planning to do. I appreciate the input, and I have just read the Hucaby switching book...
Thanks! | |

| Well, I have gone ahead and bought the Cisco Press book for the routing exam... I will be taking my composite 1 week after receiving it. I will let everyone know how informative the books were with respect to the exam! | |

| I don't mean to be discouraging but taking the Composite is not cheaper if you fail it. That exam has the potential to cover a lot of different material and it does.
There have been several posts by people recertifying that had to take this one.
Good luck,

| Right Yankee, I agree with you on that, but it recertifies me on CCNP and my CCDP I believe. So, even if I fail it once, it will be cheaper than taking those other 3 to 5 tests I would have to take if I went the long way....
I will gladly let everyone know how these two books work out. Good luck to everyone on this board! | |

| My main concern about doing this exam is the sheer amount of things that you could be asked. I've spoken to 4 people who have taken this so far - 2 passed (not by much) and 2 failed (not by much). All of them are 3rd level support engineers.
I've gone through the new BSCI and BCMSN books and although I am extremely comfortable with the major topics, its all the little bits and pieces and inevitably vague wording of some of the questions which is worrying me. Looks like a fine line between passing and failing.
If I fail it, I think I'll pay for one resit and then just do the 4 or 5 exams individually if it comes to it. £160 is a lot and I honestly think it might be easier to tackle each one on its own to give my brain a chance to recover!
Good luck all though.

| me sorry... Did not realize you were referring to recertifying. I meant to comment to towards someone who was first attempting the CCNP. My error!
