| Not bad. I am glad I have experience because the reading material I used was a joke.
I bought the "CIT Certification Guide" by Amir, from Cisco Press. It is the latest version "covering" the 642-831. It is such a joke it isn't even funny. No depth, no help at all.
One thing I did buy that was helpful was the lastest CCNP Flash Cards set from Cisco press. I found the flash cards and exam simulation helpful in getting set for test time.
Anyways, I have my CCNP now. I am still debating spending the next 1-2 years of my life pursuing the CCIE. In the meantime I am going to upgrade my MCSE 2000 to 2003. Should take 2-3 weeks.

| congrats.
i am about to take the CIT in the next couple of weeks. I have both the CIT Study Guide (seem to easy to be reliable) as well as the CIT Practice Studies (love all the labs). i would like to know did u have alot of simulated questions, and what did it focus more on?

| I thought the CIT Certification Guide was a joke as far as the price... it's only 300 pages and they're asking 50 bucks US for it. I guess that's the standard price for a tech book, but it was such a fluffy book. As far as the material inside, it was just what the author said it was... just enough to take the test. Since they've offloaded troubleshooting specifics onto each of the other 642 level exams, all that's left to really cover with the CIT exam is the Cisco approved troubleshooting methodology. It was good enough to allow me to score an 893 with only 1 week's preparation, so I guess that's all you could ask for. |
