| Been really lazy recently and have not done any study. Now it's time to recert CCNA and I've decided to start the CCNP. The books I have are the Cisco Press CCNP books but 2 years old. I really don't want to spend and more $$$. Any ideas? | |

| I wouldn't use the old books. If you don't want to spend money then I don't know if pursuing CCNP is the way to go right now, maybe just take CCNA again. If you don't invest in the proper self study materials ( like current edition books, and maybe a practice lab ), you are going to make things hard for yourself and probably cost yourself more ( from failing tests ). | |

| You can't expense the books with your work?
Books make a big difference especially with the way exams change, but the web site has lots of resources, it's just difficult to study that way for many of the exams. | |

| Thanks - just hoping to make do with the old books and maybe a supplement or two. Can't expense anything out at work, unfortunately. Will think about a new set. |
