The 2524's have the option of putting in a T-1 module. You could add this module to 2 of them and make the connection with a T-1 crossover cable (1 to 4,2 to 5). Back2Back serial cable, ethernet crossover, 2 and 4 wire CSU/DSU modules are available for the routers as well.

I have a FT/T-1 module in one of my 2524s and then have it connected to an Adtran CSU/DSU. This just gives you a little more experience with different types of equipment. I picked up the Adtran on ebay fairly cheap. Good luck.
