If I have 2 routers connected to each other with a wireless link. In other words, the router has an Ethernet WIC that connects to a wireless bridge (not 802.11) This wireless is a high speed microwave signal. Nothing will be connected to the Internet.
Can I configure a VPN tunnel on both routers to encrypt the wireless packets.
The network setup is a switch which connects to the router and the router connects to the wireless device via the WIC.
The IOS image on the routers does have the capability to do VPNs.

Can this be done!!!!!

I have seen two little 831 routers do what you describe because they came with a hardware encryption engine built into them. Without the hardware encryption you may overpower your routers.

I wasn't really involved with the project, but you can simulate it between your two routers by building the tunnels over an ethernet connection, then push a bunch of traffic between them.
