Hello,

I got a question about configuring async modem. When configuring modem we need to configure the interface and the line, right?
Interface is just like interface serial 0, interface async 0, etc. What actually is the line. Could anyone please explain to me what the line is?
Thanks

Think of it this way.

The Interface configuration is for the Logical elements of the connection. I.e. IP numbering, ppp, authentication etc.

The Line configuration is for the physical elements of the connection

i.e. modem type, tx/rx speed, flowcontrol, stopbits, etc.

Hope that helps
